That bite was so sudden. Jason was just polishing his helmet, annoyed that there was not much to do in the city in the first place when he felt something on his finger, seeing a little bug running off and attempting to smash it when a random thought crossed his mind. He didn’t really greet Roy back in the city when he arrived. How could he not do that, he had to run and find him, say how much he missed him and how lonely it was without him there. A part of him was confused as to why he even considered doing that but another told him to hush and go for it.
Locating Roy wasn’t hard after all. “Hey, what’s up? You know I missed you, right? It got pretty quiet without you here”, he said as he casually placed his arm around the archer’s shoulder.
» ® ▓ The mention of a ‘multiverse’ caused the boy to tilt his head, understanding the concept of putting the two words, multi and verse, together, but for the sake of finding out a little bit more, blank words fell from his mouth, putting up a confused act. ❝ What’dya mean? Have we met before? ❞
“Uh, hard to explain. Your self from my world, yeah”, Jason replied, deciding not to be as sarcastic for now, himself curious about where this Dick was from. “I became Robin after you decided to go solo. You started with a horrible mullet and costume, by the way, stay away from those here. And yes, before you ask, there are always more than 1 Robins going around.”
“Hood,“ Damian gestured to himself, oblivious to the details of Todd’s inner turmoil but not failing to note the subtle hints. ”Does it appear as if I am in need of a Lazarus Pit?“ Maybe whatever method that had been implemented to get him to this city had some degree of healing the body. He was almost sure he had been in such a state that the pit would have come in handy, but as he stood before the other, he felt as healthy and whole as ever.
”But more importantly, it is to my understanding that we are to remain within this city until they see fit to release us.” He raised an eyebrow, almost expecting the answer to his following question to highlight how incompetent Todd was. “Have you found a means to escape yet?”
"Don’t know, you might be missing a couple of brain cells here and there. A couple of organs, who knows? Want me to push you in the pit and see what happens?”. Of course he was capable of insulting others when it came to death. The fact that Damian was directly related to Bruce was unforgivable in a way, not to mention his own time with Talia. Boy oh boy, were the Bat family meetings interesting an incredibly awkward at the same time.
His eyebrow twitched. Damian was asking that question with the obvious answer to piss him off. Fine, he was going to play along but not show any signs of annoyance just yet. That could take forever. “The white coats? Planting a bullet between theirs eyes would have worked miracles if they ever showed their faces around here.”
sorry that I’d left you behind but quite frankly… I needed the peace and quiet.”
“Sorry that I left you behind? Is this the only apology that I’m getting? How about, hey Jason, remember when we promised that we would stick together no matter what? Anyway..how did they get you back?”
I’ve seen things. I’ve done things. I know that sometimes we have to do the bad thing just to get by. And I know that sometimes very bad things have to be done to do a great right.
» ® ▓ ❝ Huh —? ❞ Once again, he’d crossed paths with someone who knew his real name. ❝ How do you know my name? ❞
“Why wouldn’t I know your name?”, he asked, eyes narrowing under his helmet. “Huh. Coming from the multiverse? That might explain why you shrunk in the wash.”
“If it makes you feel any better, I never got a memorial back home. Or if you’re still hung up about it, consider yourself invited because I really didn’t think we were having a reunion. Either way, it’s not much of one with just you, me, and a little… Grayson.”
“Come on, do you honestly think that you were Robin for long enough to get a memorial? Like what, a day? Night? Oh, and the demon kid. Damian’s apparently here. And alive. Go figure, I thought we kept the privilege of being the dead kids coming back slightly messed up in the head. ”
